In August 1992, I suddenly lost my husband and was left with two young children to care for. At the time of his untimely demise, I had long retired and was involved in community services and small entrepreneurial activities. With both of my children in boarding school and now a widow, it left me with time – lots of time to reflect on how to utilize some of my past experiences in an impactful way. So, I revisited my passion for education. For a long time, I had a vision that one day I would be able to start a school which would provide children with the best education possible.
My Passion for education has always been an integral part of my life. As a life -long educator, I have a wide range of experiences such as a background in childhood psychology and a background in instructing and assisting teachers at a teacher training program here in Tanzania. With my background and knowledge, I saw that I could utilize my skills in several areas of education and make a positive change in my community.
My initial goal was to reach children who were not afforded the proper education. The bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go.” So, I decided that I would be instrumental in enabling children to discover and use their talents at the right time in their developmental stages. This led me to take a leap of faith with Jesus as my guide and was able to turn my vision into a reality. In June 1993, I convinced my friends and neighbors to enroll in our first established nursery school with only 7 students at the time. What a wonderful feeling to fulfill my dream in education.
This was a beginning of a long journey that would lead to an enrolment of over 500 students from Nursery to Primary Seven. Since then, we have nurtured and prepared over 2000 students who are now Doctors, Lawyers, IT specialists, Accountants, Teachers, Engineers, Entrepreneurs, Artists, and many more. It is our mission that every child that comes into our hands will achieve their educational goals at every level of their growth and development and become competent and confident citizens with moral integrity. We here at Eden Garden are committed to excellence.
We adhere to the Tanzanian curriculum developed by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE).

Unfortunately at this time we do not provide Special Dietary needs. However, we provide nutritious meals for all our students.
We have CCTV and Surveillance cameras monitoring internal and external areas around our campuses. We have also employed professional security guards who monitor our campuses’ safety as well as the dormitories.
We provide them with proper guidance, resources based on each child’s individual needs whilst also ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
Our nursery supervisor will contact the parents/guardians to inform them of the child’s condition and then proceed (with the parent’s consent) with the administering of the required first aid done by our school matron.
A variety of toys are available at the school for children to play with therefore we do not encourage bringing toys to school in order to avoid misplacing or damaging the toy.
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it
